40th Anniversary Of The Florence Flood

We were at the Comune offices yesterday in the Palazzo Vecchio to get our Carta D'Identita finally (subject of a future post), and got a couple of brochures about the flood and the events planned, etc. Unfortunately this doesn't seem to be seen as a tourist event - the Comune site in English does not mention the flood, but on the Italian site they have a link to a great PDF file with all the things planned for the next several weeks.
